My first Science Competition - Youth Science Festival : The Rocket Energy Fest. RVHS - Team Deviants won Best Precision Award. A miracle came through after our rocket shot through the balloon under five seconds. Even the judges were shocked, amazed, surprised. It was really a very - DUM DUM DUMMMMMMM. Shock. Surprise. Really.
On 25th May 2012, it brought to me both devastation and happiness. Mr Chow left, for good? I don’t know. I made a speech ending with a hope of seeing Mr Chow again. But is that a hope which I can truly hold on to? To accept a new English teacher isn’t going to be easy but what other choice do I have? What other choice do we have? On 2K’s Facebook Group, I told them to loosen up and cheer up, to accept the new teacher, to embrace. I never do practice what I preach do I? 想看到他们开心,自己却不快乐. Greatest irony. See you later, Mr Chow. Gonna really miss you dearly.
At night, I rushed down from home after receiving two missed calls from Ms Loh. Followed by a few spam calls and Ms Loh telling me to hurry up, she is rotting. That was classic funny. Felt really bad when we went to the auditorium for there were allocated seats for teachers and yet because I was with her, she had to sit at the P rows. VIP - Very Important People. That’s the row of seats she was suppose to sit at, but went to sit at the P rows with me - People Row. My schoolmates were there, they seemed kind of jealous and were like, “WTF is she so close to Ms Loh? or WTF is she getting attention from Ms Loh?” Yep, those expressions and everything. Felt real bad and constantly told Ms Loh it’s alright if she wanted to go to the VIP Rows. She said, “If you don’t stop now, I’m gonna get angry.” Well later all that was photo-taking with her (: and laughing in our seats, suan-ing some of the contestants. Ms Tay didn’t come because she could not get a ticket. She should have asked me, I had two tickets - I bought one, Sandy gave me one.
The last two days of school weren’t half bad. Got to talk to Ms Zeng in her hostel office (it’s really a office, not some table), a bunch of other people whom I rarely talked to, discovered some new things, found new friends, slayed new enemies. I got a 3.8 GPA, with 70-80 marks for each subject except Chinese, I got a 60+ B3. DAFUQ. Despite the GPA, my report card still looks pretty ugly with all those sevens and six. Ms Loh also told me that I’m going with her for the trip in September for CID. I hope to go on that trip, Senior Emily said it was fun and adventurous. But still, over 20 schools are participating in that competition. Do I even stand a chance like seriously? Bad paradigms. But hey, who said I couldn’t fantasized?
I wish for good luck. I wish for it.
